The EU LCS regular season has managed to finish with only a single tie-breaker match played, as G2 take down Splyce to secure the second seed bye heading into playoffs

After a gruelling day of matches between the teams of the EU LCS, in the end we only had a single tie-breaker match, which took place between G2 Esports and Splyce for possession of second place, and more importantly, the bye that comes with second place.

The match started off well for Splyce, claiming first blood early before trading kills just minutes later. G2 prioritized the Rift Herald while Splyce took down the first Dragon of the match, before both teams traded more blows, swapping turrets and kills both ways. G2 seemed to have the advantage, taking down more turrets and winning a crucial team fight that saw three members of Splyce fall unopposed, before moving to secure their own Dragon.

A massive team fight at Baron saw G2 secure the buff and take down four members of Splyce, allowing them to push their attack into the base of Splyce to destroy an inhibitor. After pulling back, G2 were able to secure another Dragon, before both teams prepared for Baron to respawn.

G2 managed to secure the second Baron as well, and with the added power pushed hard into the base of Splyce, trading lives for the ability to destroy all of Splyce’s inhibitors and threaten the Nexus. G2 would pull back from their assault long enough to respawn and secure the next Dragon, before pushing back in for a final confrontation. The final fight saw all of Splyce fall as their defences were swept away, leaving G2 alone on the map to end the game, securing the second place spot in the EU LCS.
