In a battle that had massive playoff implications, the Seoul Dynasty and London Spitfire faced off to begin Saturday's Overwatch League action.

The Seoul Dynasty came into today's match with a 13-4 record and in 2nd place in the Overwatch League. Coming off of a 2-3 loss to the New York Excelsior on Wednesday, Seoul was looking to end Week 4 with a victory over one of their main rivals in the league. The London Spitfire came into the match with a 12-5 record and in 3rd place in the league. London was able to secure a 3-1 victory over the San Francisco Shock on Friday and needed a win over the Seoul Dynasty to put themselves in a good position to make the Stage 2 playoffs. Here is a short breakdown of how the match went.

Hanamura was the first map of the match, and it was an offensive showcase from both teams. Both London and Seoul captured both control points in their attack rounds to force a 2-2 tie. The Dynasty were able to break through the Spitfire's defense on Point A to collect a 3-2 lead, but they would fail at securing Point B. Seeing the oportunity to take the map, the London Spitfire would pull together a very strong and coordinated offensive push to capture both Point A and B. This resulted in the 4-3 win on Hanamura and 1-0 match lead for the London Spitfire. It was a fierce battle between two of the best Winston players in the entire league, as Jae-Hui "Gesture" Hong (25 eliminations, 11 final blows and 11 deaths) and Jin-Hyuk "Miro" Gong (26 eliminations, six final blows and eight deaths) fought to lead their team to victory.

Lijiang Tower followed Hanamura and it was another strong showing for the London Spitfire. Strong performances from Gesture (28 eliminations, 8,140 damage blocked and three deaths as Winston), Jun-Young "Profit" Park (16 eliminations, a kill streak of 11 and zero deaths as Tracer) and Seung-Hyun "WooHyaL" Seong (28 eliminations, 10,597 damage blocked and one death as D.Va) led the way for London to capture the first two hills and take the 2-0 victory on Lijiang Tower. With Seoul's woes continuing against London, the Spitfire took a 2-0 match lead going into halftime.

King's Row was the third map of the match. The Seoul Dynasty began their comeback by pushing through London's defense to capture the payload and deliver it to the second checkpoint. A back and forth struggle would be the story of the final checkpoint, as Seoul were inches away from completing the map, but clutch plays from Jong-Seok "NUS" Kim's Lúcio and the Graviton Surges of Profit would save the day for London and prevent the Dynasty from securing a third point. Seeing an opening to clinch the match win, the London Spitfire would capture the payload and deliver it to the very end of the map. A well placed Rip Tire ultimate from Ji-Hyeok "birdring" Kim took out Jin-Mo  "tobi" Yang and Sang-Beom "Munchkin" Byun of Seoul to open up the final checkpoint for London. The Spitfire had Profit (29 eliminations, 10 Graviton Surge kills and only one death as Zarya), Seung-Tae "Bdosin" Choi (22 eliminations, 11,475 healing done and three deaths as Moira) and NUS (22 eliminations, 7,733 healing done and four deaths as Lúcio) to thank for the win on King's Row win. The map win clinched the match for the Spitfire with the score at 3-0, but with map count being such a major part in the playoff race both teams were still determined to win map four.

Watchpoint: Gibraltar was the final map of the match. A couple of impressive kill streaks from Byung-Sun "FLETA" Kim's Genji and Joon-Hyeok "ZUNBA" Kim's D.Va led the way for Seoul to deliver the payload to the second checkpoint, but London was able to hold strong on the final checkpoint with the help of some superb healing from NUS to prevent the Seoul Dynasty from collecting their third point. Having no answer to London's offensive strategy, the Seoul Dynasty were unable to keep the Spitfire from completing the map, which resulted in London securing the 3-2 map win and 4-0 match sweep.

With the win, the London Spitfire improved to a record of 13-5 and took over 2nd place in the Overwatch League, while moving them into the Stage 2 playoffs for now. The loss dropped the Seoul Dynasty to a 13-5 record and moved them into 3rd place, while their zero map wins against London knocked them out of the Stage 2 playoffs for the moment.
