Not every team can make playoffs, and when the pressure was on in the do or die moment, Schalke proved unable to beat the best in Europe right now, falling to Fnatic in a quick and brutal match.
The match started with a quick attack from Fnatic, securing first blood by catching Schalke’s support out of position. Fnatic kept the pressure on, taking the first turret and preparing for a contest around the Dragon. Schalke managed to take the Rift Herald, but that left the bot lane underprepared for a Fnatic assault, losing two members and control of the bot side of the map.
With the first Dragon secured, Fnatic kept up the pressure, trading turrets and kills while maintaining their overall lead. Both teams seemed to be waiting for some unseen signal, and when the Baron spawned, the light turned green for the engage. Fnatic would prove to be the beneficiary of this conflict, securing the Baron buff and several kills before marching on the base of Schalke to destroy an inhibitor. With little to stand in their way, Fnatic continued to attack the defences of Schalke, taking down more turrets and another inhibitor, before finally claiming the lives of more Schalke defenders as they ended the game.
